Jeans For Genes

Pic of genes for Jeans

On Friday 22nd September, 1300 cupcakes, mainly baked by Year 7s, flooded into the Sixth Form Office.

So many Year 7 students had taken part in the Inter-form bake sale to support our ‘Jeans for Genes’ charity day. The aim of the competition was to be the form who baked the most cupcakes, which we can now reveal was 7CR2 – a huge well done to Dr Leggett’s and Mrs Smith’s form. There was also an individual winner for the best decorated cupcakes: Olivia O’Keeffe from 7OR1 – huge congratulations also to Olivia. Thank you to all these brilliant Year 7 students – what a great start to their time at Crompton House!Cakes jeans and genes

The bake sale at lunchtime was a huge success- we filled six full tables of cakes! And even better, around 1200 of them sold within 50 minutes. Hundreds of students gathered to come and support this worthy cause. The remaining 100 cakes were sold in the staff room, and also to pupils on their way out of school at the end of the day.

The bake sale raised £662. By adding the money from the non-uniform contributions, the total was made up to £1000. Thank you also to the German Exchange Group who held a bake sale and contributed their takings to this worthy cause.

The Student Management Team would like to thank everybody who supported the Bake Sale in any way.
